Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work

3 Days

​

Throughout a three-day-long first aid training course you will become acquainted with and able to treat the following conditions until professional medical staff arrives on the scene.

​

Everything from the 1-day Emergency First Aid Training at Work and also:

Bones, joints and muscle injuries

Head and spinal injuries

Chest and abdominal injuries

Specialised burn injuries

Eye injuries

Poisoning

Level 3 Award Oxygen Therapy Administration Course

1 Day

​

A Level 3 course suitable for qualified first aiders, dental care professionals, nurses, healthcare professionals and others working in environments where O2 is available for casualties.


The syllabus covers the benefits, indications, contraindications, dangers, use, storage, handling, and equipment operational checks of:


Non rebreather masks
Bag, valve, and mask
Compressed gas cylinders
In line with agreed ways of working.

First Aid for a broken arm

Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid

2 Days

​

Paediatric-Suitable for learners who care for children in a professional setting.

 

This first aid course is for people who look after babies and children in any setting, including nannies, childminders, nursery workers and au pairs.

 

It is recommended for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets the requirements for childcare registration.

Life Threatening Catastrophic Bleeding Control - Additional Course

3 hours​

This is an additional first aid training course for currently qualified first aiders. 

This 3-hour course teaches:

The control measures 

Equipment

Use of haemostatic dressings

Use of tourniquets

Environmental issues

Handover to the emergency services

 

All when dealing with catastrophic bleeds/ haemorrhage.

 

On completion, trainees will receive a certificate of attendance.

Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid

1 Days

​

This course is for newly qualified level two and three childcare staff who are beginning a career in an Early Years setting.

Level 3 Emergency Care for First Responders (ECFR)

I am delighted to say I also teach this excellent, fully regulated Highfield Level 3 Award,
through collaboration with the Indrisec Academy. Designed for Professional Pre-Hospital
First Responders providing care for patients as a secondary role eg Police Officers in
specialist roles, Fire Fighters, Enhanced Community First Responders, Close Protection
Operatives, or for any first aiders wanting to take their skills to the next level.

This course meets band D requirements (the highest level for secondary role) on the PHEM
framework (Pre Hospital Emergency Medicine) designed by the Faculty of Pre Hospital Care
at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

The 5 day course agenda goes well beyond
first aid at work, including Triage, major incidents, medical emergencies, Oxygen therapy,
nitrous oxide, airway management, life threatening catastrophic bleeds, assessing a
casualties vital signs, establishing a patient record, road traffic accidents, splints, spinal
boards & evacuation, poisons, drugs, safeguarding, extreme temperatures, handing over
your casualty to A&E or a Paramedic.
